Update: 01/05 - It really is a "feet" of monumental proportion!!!! Sophie came into rescue (a year ago in August by the way) and wouldn't let ANYONE touch her feet. We had to sedate her for nail clippings. Her foster mother has been working diligently to desensitize her to a dremel tool. Today her foster mother had this to say: I only need mention the word, "toesies", and Sophie Ann now runs into the kitchen and flops down ready for her pedicure. (Nice nails mean squat to her, but beef chunks totally have her attention.) Sophie is wonderfully sweet. She has a difficult time with initial dog introductions. To decrease that stress during placement, we feel it would be best to place her in a home where she is the only dog. She is great with all people, however, we also feel that she would do better in a home with children over 12. Sophie had an extraordinarily difficult start in life and those scars run deep for her. She has done some basic training while in rescue and we would encourage new owners to continue that journey with her. She's worth it! |
